Meet Kim

A while back I shared a sample itinerary for a weekend mentoring session. That specific itinerary is for Kim who will travel to Savannah May the 7th for our weekend mentoring session! I am so tickled to introduce Kim to you. During and after her weekend I will blog updates and photos! In the past year Kim has gone from client, to Bride to very good friend and now wedding photographer in training!! I have enjoyed seeing her photographs and her love for photography grow and cannot wait to get here here so we can dive right in and get her ready to take on the world of wedding photography!

How about I let Kim tell you a bit about herself and her photography!

name: Kim Chodorowski (!)

website: http://www.lifesstories.net and the blog is at http://blog.lifesstories.net

favorite color (why not ask this right?): pink!

biggest fear photography wise: I think my biggest fear is disappointing clients. I am so afraid that someone will hire me for a session and then not be happy with the images that I give them.

your 5 year plan in a nutshell: Within a 5 year period I want to be able to use photography as my main source of income – and not starve in the process. The hubby and I want to begin having (more) kiddos soon, and I would like to be able to take a break from teaching to be a stay at home mom. The idea is to be able to go out and do shoots on weekends or in the afternoons while Derek can be home with the kiddos, and then I can do the rest of the work from home. In a perfect world anyway.

your passion(s) aka what makes you, YOU: running!! I am an avid runner – this is the only time I have to myself where my mind can run free without the distractions of everyday life (dishes, laundry, etc). I also love being a wife and mom…I love spending time with the family and growing together.

why mentoring? why now?: I discovered photography a little over a year ago…and since then, it’s all I think about! I love taking pictures of everything and anything. I love photographing other people and seeing what I can do…but I feel like I’m at a standstill right now. The main thing I photograph is my family – mostly the kiddos – and I want to branch out a bit more…but I lack the know-how to do this in so many different ways…I need to learn more about marketing and try out some different types of photography. I have shot couples and kiddos, but I want to delve into the world of weddings!

Kim was a recent bride of mine, and she shared her favorite photograph that I took:

And here is Kim’s favorite image that she has taken!

Sweet sweet Jude! I could blog all day about that child!!
