I just dropped Alicia off at the Savannah International Airport, and I wasn’t at all happy about saying goodbye! Alicia and I clicked right away on Monday when she arrived in Savannah. I don’t think either of us stopped chattering during our 3 days together (goodness knows I didn’t).
In addition to wedding photography, I taught Alicia a few Southern Phrases like, “I’m fixin’ to go to the piggly wiggly”, “God love her heart!”, she learned all about chiggers, Spanish moss and even grits (she had some for breakfast today at Clary’s!!). We did make a little time for photography too.
I can’t express how proud I am of Alicia, she dove right in and conquered a few fears along the way. I think the highlight of our mentoring was her chatting on the phone with her Hubby, Neil, last night as he looked at her new photos on facebook. He was just as proud!
I am sorry we didn’t blog throughout the week, but we were very busy behind the camera (and just laughing a lot!).
Take a peek at just some of her images from her time in Savannah! You can see more of her recent work on her blog too!

Love, Love, Love you both!!! We had such a great time. All I want to know is where was I when that dessert was ordered?!
All I have to say is you rock lady! I had such a fabulous time taking in the Savannah charm, photographing an amazing bride and groom and making a new friend…and when I make a friend I hold on to them forever! Teresa…thank you from the bottom of my lil ol heart for your warm hospitality, charm and for introducing me to your world! I am so excited and pumped up to begin my journey as a wedding photographer!
Stay tuned for me to rock New England in wedding photography!!
xoxoxo Alicia

From the moment I got to Savannah I was in full anticipation for my mentoring with Teresa…and the minute we met I was at ease. Teresa has the all the charm you might expect from a southern lady…she made me feel right at home in her world! We got right to work and she was always open to any questions and she was always carefully observing me to see where I might need some guidance or maybe a little boost of confidence! When we got started behind the camera…she was right there to help me when I struggled with some little technical issue! The wedding detail photo shoots included not only the little details like a fake but really realistic wedding cake to a beautiful bride who was a trooper to put her wedding dress on a second time….may I also say her hubby was a trooper too…its not always easy for guys to be the center of attention!
The BEST part of my three days in Savannah…were not all the shooting and all the photography stuff…it was actually making a new friend….and I feel really cheesy saying this, but really….she and I had a blast talking about the southern phrases, food (grits….yes I thought they were lard…but I am from Northern California so cut me some slack!)….she made be laugh from beginning to end and I will never forget my time in Savannah….Thank you Teresa…and I do hope that we remain buds for a long time!
